Comments: Just saw the article in HPP Feb. '07. Saw my friend Jack's 68 FB400 Conv. "George Barris Giveaway Car" in the article. He was happy to see his car in the magazine. Looking forward to another Great Show! I'll get the word out to my customers and put on some websites. Remember Lots of Sponsorship is needed to make this a great show. Let me know if you need anything. thepontiacman@yahoo.com

Comments: We've attended the show for several years in the past, but just cannot justify the expense associated with this show. $60 weekend of show registration? Wow, far too expensive for what one gets with this show. Our Super Chevy registration wasn't as much. Sadly, we'll be forfeiting because of the entry cost.

Comments: (A BIT DISAPOINTED) We are very sad to here you say that. You can preregister as long as you have your registration post marked by February 28th. The price of the show has been the same for going on 6 years. The venue changed this year and we are having professional judges flown in from Ohio area to judge show. Lets just face it the cars hows are becoming more and more expensive for fuel, accomodations and spending money. All the shows i attend throughout the us on average cost me a total of $2500-4000 dollars each to attend with everything involved. We were able to donate $4500.00 to the AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY last years after all expenses were paid. The security for show cost $3600, DJ $800, Insurance $800, Facility $3000, + awards. take $50.00 per car times 100 average and you get $5000.00. Now we have sponsors (I'm included at $2000.00 level along with the car dealership that offsets some of the expense. Auction items also help on expenses. The bottom line is all this has to be taken into consideration when you pay your entry fee. We will miss everyone who is not able to make it but note: NO PARTICIPATION THEN THERE WILL BE NO SHOW IN THE FUTURE!

Comments: To be honest, I thought $50 was pretty steep for a car show at first, but then I realized what is involved with this show. It is an all weekend event, not just an afternoon show & shine at the mall or something like that. Pontiacs are more expensive all around because there are fewer of us to spread the overall cost to, unlike the Mustangs and various Chevy interests. Our parts and cars are more expensive and when we limit ourselves to just us, our events are going to be more expensive too cause there are more of them than us. Also, keep in mind also that the $50 pre-registration fee gets you a t-shirt that is usually $10-$15 at most shows, so we’re really only talking about a $35 reg. fee which is only $10 more than what I was paying for 1 day local shows last summer. I'm really looking forward to the show and seeing some great looking T/A's without the hassle of going all the way up to Ohio for a dedicated show.

Comments: Wow $50.00 for an all weekend show and people are disappointed. A $10.00 - $15.00 t shirt included along with a hotel discount. Yeah i'm sure Super Chevy takes care of you there. Hmm i wonder how much people pay to go see Barrett Jackson per day. Maybe Mr. Disappointed can put a show on for us in his hometown for less. Sorry for the sarcasm but if you don't want to go then just don't show up. I'll be there on Friday. Thank you Mark and Belva for putting on this event.

Comments: Paul, I'm with you. I have made every show and always enjoy myself. We make a family vacation out it. The cost of everything is going up. I spend more to race for one day. My cost to get there far exceeds the cost of the show. It a really nice event, Mark and Belva work very hard to put on the show. And serves a good cause.

Comments: Heard great things about the show. Can't wait, the people I've met since getting into the hobby are just top notch! The price is very reasonable... I'm a two time cancer survivor, lost my dad last year to it so besides the carshow it's a great cause for me personally. Which by the way I find many car shows are supporting some great causes. 1sgtretired

Comments: Too Much Money? Come On, You can spend more than $60.00 on a meal? We are talking about a weekend of fun, friends and cars. I missed my first STARS show last year due to birth of our son and I am still trying to figure out how much of his allowance to dock him for making me miss it...just kidding. But really. Mark and Belva keep up the good work. It's really a great show!!!

Comments: Glad to see lots of people coming to the show and supporting a good cause. Many of us have been touched in some way by cancer and this is one way to help the fight against this disease. It's also great to see lots of nice "Birds", meet lots of nice people, and have a good time. Come on down and get away from the rat race. It takes lots of work in advance to make a show happen and then more work at show time. Make sure you thank all involved who make this show possible. See you all there! Preston.

Comments: Darrell and I have worked with Belva & Mark for so many years in the car show. We've been judges and Darrell did the auctions, and I worked where ever Belva & Mark needed me. This has always been a huge success and esp for the cause, a Cure for Cancer. I lost Darrell 58 years old, after being diagnosed in May 2006 with Leukiema, cause "Benzene". I lost my best friend and husband after 37 years. I will continue to be a part of any event for such a cause. My dear friends, Belva and Mark work all year to provide the best for the show & shine funraiser and it is worth every penny. I will encourage each and everyone to participate and bring those beautiful cars out to share. The funds do go to the American Cancer Society. Come One, Come All, and Come and support the 6th Annual "STARS" Show and the Biggest reason, a Cure for Cancer. Thank you and looking forward to seeing YOU! Love, Deborah

Liked the tech line and Judging this year only thing thought to many people waited to Sunday to be judged and caused a big back up. Tracy got judged on Sat and that was the best no hurring and all could take there time. Mark and Belva you two did an awesome job once again. We are already making plans for next year just waiting on the dates. It was good to see everyone again. Liked it being back in March too. SEE EVERYONE NEXT YEAR!

Comments: Tony's wife here!! We LOVE the show and have attended every one, we make it a family vacation down from St. Louis to escape our winter, and we loved it in April for warmer weather and water temps at the beach.....speaking as an out-of-state'er vs. a local, and someone coming with a family, we could promote a little easier to our friends to join us in April, as it's warmer and better water temps in ocean! Our friends who joined us in April did not come down in March....we didn't really notice any crush of spring breakers the year it was in April, either...fantastic job on the show in '06 and love the Destin Commons location - just need the dates now to get our condo reservation made....

Comments: The show will be in 2008 at a different location. The Destin Commons said that there was complaints from the merchants so they don't want us back. I am talking to Grand Boulvard in Sandestin which is about 15 miles east of The Destin Commons. The Conference Center does not want anymore car shows that have to deal with car trailers and 3 day shows. So with that said we are limited to places to have the show. The Dates of the show will change to october or November time frame and also it will be held from Thursday thru Saturday with sunday being a travel day for everyone. I know it is change but we are willing to do that. Also look for new design of the website coming soon. Later

Comments: Sorry to hear that they don't want us. I thought that it would have boosted business for them I know we dropped alot of money there that weekend. But just as sorry to hear that it will be in Oct. or Nov.. That is during school here. I personally don't have school age children but I know several of the people do and I think that that might mean less attendence. But I hope not. At this time we are not sure if our work schedules will allow us to attend (just have to wait and see what the dates are.)Looking forward to the new website and all the new pictures.
